On this tours you will visit villages as Villa Unión (Brick yard), Malpica (traditional bread and floor tiles), Concordia and Copala (mining, pottery and colonial furniture factory).

Located 71 kms. From Mazatlán on the right hand side of highway 40. it´s meaning in prehispanic language is copal (chewing gum tree). It was founded on march. 19th, 1565 by the spanish colonizer Francisco de Ibarra.

It is one of the most interesting nearby villages with its cobblestone streets, its church built in XVII century, its colonial bulldings and some old mining caves. Restaurants in copala have restricted menus but don´t skip its famous dessert “banana pie”

During this tour you will stop to witness how bricks have been made since colonial times, heading southward you will pass Presidio River and little town of "Villa Unión", where we turn southeast on highway 40 that lead us to the village of "Malpica", where you will visit a family bakery bussines that bakes bread in a wood-oven, and across the street, you will see "Jorge" handmaking floor tiles with his old-time press, samples are sold.

Driving on the freeway anothers 15 kms, you will find a colonial furnitures factory that have added a large pottery and weaving yards with demostrations. Then, you will encounter hot springs water, where local wives hand-launder their family clothes. And finally, "Concordia" town with its most outstanding building known as "Saint Sebastian" church, which was built about 1875. City hall and square are across from the church.
